BIOPSY OR OPEN WOUND WITH STITCHES
• Do not wear tight clothing that rubs against the incision while it is healing.
• Do not lift any heavy weights 3 weeks after excision (surgery) otherwise an incision can break open. This may happen along the entire cut or just part of it. If it happens please return to the office for free of charge visit to check your incision site. Your doctor may decide not to close it again with sutures (stitches). If your doctor does not close your wound again with sutures, you need to care for it at home. The detailed explanation on how to take care of such a wound will be given to you in the office during your free wound check visit.
• No showering for 24 hours after excision.
• Take Tylenol (Acetaminophen) over the counter for discomfort, if no contraindications.
• Apply over the counter Bacitracin, Neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment (unless allergic) to the wound 2-3 times daily for few days or until it heals.
• Report fever, pain, puss, discharge or opening of the wound calling our office at 732.244.2666 or go to ER.

LIQUID NITROGEN (FREEZING SPRAY)
• Throbbing of the site treated is expected 1 0-20 minutes after the treatment and is normal.
• Do not wear tight clothing that rubs against the wound while it is healing.
• Expect scabbing or blisters (including blood blisters), which is normal. You might leave them intact (blisters usually blister on their own in few days) or you may drain them (in this case take a sterile needle or rub needle with rubbing alcohol and prick the blister then apply Bacitracin, Neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment to the site unless allergic).
• Once blister pops open – on its own or by draining – keep the site covered with adhesive or Band-Aid during the day (for infection prevention) and leave it open at night (for quicker healing).
